Free pregnancy testing

Start with one of our free self-administered pregnancy tests. Even if you've taken an at-home test, it's worth confirming the result here so you can ask follow-up questions and plan a clear next step.

When to test

The pregnancy hormone (hCG) takes time to build up after conception. The most reliable result comes after a missed period. The longer you wait, the more accurate the test.

What an appointment looks like

You'll meet with a trained team member in a private space, take a self-administered test, and have time to ask whatever questions are on your mind. If the test is positive, we'll talk through next steps, including a referral for an ultrasound. If it's negative, we'll talk through what may be going on and what to do if your symptoms continue.

After a positive test

A positive test indicates pregnancy but does not confirm whether there is a heartbeat or where the pregnancy is located. We recommend an ultrasound as the next step before any decision about prenatal care or termination, and we offer referrals.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions about free pregnancy testing

How accurate are your pregnancy tests?

Our urine tests detect hCG with greater than 99% accuracy when taken at the right time. For the most reliable result, test at least one day after a missed period.

How early can I take a pregnancy test?

Some sensitive tests can detect pregnancy as early as 8 to 10 days after conception, but accuracy improves the longer you wait. The most reliable window is one day or more after a missed period.

Do I need an appointment for a free pregnancy test?

Appointments are best so we can give you privacy and a full conversation. Walk-ins are accommodated when staffing allows. Call your nearest center in Haverhill, Lawrence, or Lowell to confirm.

Is the pregnancy test really free?

Yes. Every test, every visit, every conversation is at no cost. We do not bill insurance and we do not collect payment.

What if my test is positive?

You will have time to ask questions and we will talk through next steps, including a free referral for an ultrasound to check for a heartbeat and confirm gestational age.

Can someone come with me?

Yes. A partner, parent, friend, or anyone you trust is welcome to be in the room with you.
